Freedom to be Independent

Today, we celebrate our independence.
Today, we celebrate our freedoms.
Our freedom to
attend the church of our choice,
to worship God publicly,
to use the internet,
to unschool,
to wear the clothes of our choice,
to eat the food of our choice,
to grow our own food if we choose,
to start a small business,
to have friends of any shape, color, or religion,
to read the Bible or any book we might like,
to pray,
to have as many children of any gender as we would like,
to listen to the music of our choice,
to learn
and soak up all that we can in this life.

I am thankful, today and every day, to be free.
Not only because I live in the land of the free
but because I embrace a mindset, a spirit, a heart, a lifestyle of freedom.

Thank you, Jesus, for setting me free from sin, guilt, anger, and self-hatred.
Thank you to our forefathers for making this a country of freedom.
And thank you to today's revolutionaries who are introducing old ideas as if they are new again so that we might live our lives to the fullest.

It truly is a blessed life that we live.

Happy Independence Day.
Celebrate your choices.
