Rainy Morning Art and Play

Today has been a dreary, rainy, stormy day.
"Deadly storms" were moving into our area by 10 am and
the whole ordeal won't be over until about 3 am.

The critters and the birds have been scrounging around for food.

There are some muddy puddles under our swings that won't quit.

We listened to the singer/songwriter station on pandora

and we taped a giant piece of white paper to the dining room table, got out the crayons,

and filled some plastic eggs with organic fruity o's as Drayken's snack.
(Seriously, for months I've been feeding him from plastic eggs. He loves it.)

After Drayken opened all of the eggs, dumped out the cereal,
and snacked a bit he tried to put them on his toes

and started sucking on them some too.

He blew some "bub"s with his cereal.

And he took this princess sticker and placed it on various parts of his body... like his knee and his foot. Then he would kiss the princess. He even put it on my cheek and gave it a kiss there :)

He had a lot of fun with his brother...

who thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of scribbling and making marks on the paper by putting all of the round crayons under his hand and rubbing as hard as he could.

Hunter also experimented with color combining.
"Wow, look, yellow and red DO make orange!"

Ronin got in on the action by helping me out with my doodle.

Then she made her own princess doodle.

She climbed up onto the table

and filled up the remaining white space.

But the contributions she seemed most proud of were
the "No Hunter" sign she made for her bedroom door using crayon, sticker, and a piece of felt

and the spelling of a naughty word.

  3. Hope the storms didn't wreak too much havoc in your area! What a fun creative day in your home!! I love the pic of your daughter sitting on top of the table--just like a serious budding artist would :).

  4. I like how the kids experimented with their crayons. Also it's fun to see how the youngest played with the eggs once he dumped his snack. Thank you for sharing on It's Playtime!
