rings and flowers and fancy clothes

My brother-in-law got married last weekend. Donut was one of three flower girls and He-Man got to be the "ring bearer". (I use quotations because I've never understood why this role is called "ring bearer" when, in fact, the child rarely ever seems to be bearing rings. If someone can help me out here, I'd really appreciate it!) Oh and the Captain played the role of sexiest groomsman. Not that the others weren't gorgeous too!

The whole weekend was crazy busy. We got to see family from out of town and spend numerous hours decorating the church. The rehearsal dinner was at a local restaurant called B.McNeel's and we had a buffet. The roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy were a wonderful treat. I skipped dessert. :)

Donut and her cousin who looked SO GROWN UP as a junior bride's maid.
Donut discovers that she doesn't get to wear silver high heels like the
other girls and she's pretty mad.
This is the ugly face she made at her great aunts about her shoes. Nice.
Two of my three handsome men.
Donut with her great grandmothers! Love these ladies!
So glad that they could be with us!

Donut waiting for pictures with her Papa.
Please note the mirror-image converse-covered foot tilts.

Okay, this picture says Cathy and Christopher Dollanger to me... or maybe Carrie and Corey ("Flowers in the Attic", ya'll. Anyone else see the resemblance?)

Her first lipstick.

Donut didn't want to walk down the aisle so Daddy came out and picked her up and carried her to the front.

And held her for a while.

But He-Man did just fine during the ceremony.

We were all totally exhausted after this wedding was all said and done. So tired, in fact, that three of us got colds. I hope to never have to deal with a wedding in the family again for a very long time!

  1. Awww, sweet pictures. Love the grandmas and little Draykies tux! Y'all clean up real nice :)

  2. You tell donut I'd take those Blue Striped Tights over silver heals any day!
    Nice pics.
    Everyone looks great!!!

  3. Wedding's are so exhausting when you're a part of them, aren't they?! But the kids looked so adorable! (Yes, even the ugly face. ;) You'll forget the exhaustion eventually, and just be glad you've got the photos. :)

  4. thanks for sharing your lovely pics with us! i love how much time you devote to your blog. her tights are awesome! love it all! :o)

  5. thanks everyone. i loved the tights too. that was my own personal touch since no one told me what socks she was supposed to wear. i figured hey, why not!?

we seem to have almost recovered but donut seems to still be super tired after all of this. crazy that it's been over a week and she's still worn out.

  6. Donut is my kind of girl preferring converse to silver heels! love it!

  7. Nice blog with nice picture of cutie. They are adorable. Like the pictures on your blog very much. Happy Living :)
